Meet Your Area C Director: Kristine Rezny

Hey Del Rey! My name is Kristine Rezny and I am your Area C Director.

Originally from Chicago, I migrated west for college to escape winter and have been enjoying life in much warmer conditions ever since. In 2014, I moved to Los Angeles to earn my Masters of Social Work (MSW) at University of Southern California. After finishing my MSW program in 2016, I decided to “treat myself” for finishing my MSW by moving to Del Rey because it was super close to the beach and had ample biking and running paths.

In my daily life, I am a school social worker at a high school in south central Los Angeles. I absolutely love my job as a social worker and enjoy working with youth as they grow and develop. I also coach cross country at the high school. When not being a quirky social worker or fulfilling my Del Rey Neighborhood Council duties, I enjoy cycling with my friends, running, hiking, and doing any and all outdoor activities. I also deeply love dogs and dinosaurs.

I decided to run for neighborhood council after seeing election signs down the Culver path and thinking “There’s a way to get involved in my neighborhood?!” Having loved living in Del Rey for five years, I wanted to have a way to give back to the community that brought me so much joy. Additionally, I aimed to play a part in bringing the community back together after over a year of being quarantined at home.

I absolutely love living in and representing Area C! My kind neighbors, the ample access to biking/running paths, the close proximity to the Pacific Ocean, and so many more factors, make me so grateful to call Area C home. It is a great honor to represent my community as the Area C Director.
