My name is Anne Kaplan and I am the Area B Director for the Del Rey Neighborhood Council. My husband and I moved to the Del Rey area from Westwood almost 11 years ago, shortly after retirement.
In my working life, I worked for L.A. Unified School District as a teacher, school psychologist and administrator. I served on the homeowners’ board in my previous, as well as my current condominium.Retired life has been great, and I highly recommend it to everyone!
I spend my days walking, biking, having lunch with friends, and visiting or driving carpool for my four grandchildren who live nearby. I also enjoy golf, bridge and reading and I am in two book groups. I am still learning about my responsibilities on the Del Rey Council but am currently co-chairing the Education Committee.
My favorite things about Area B is the variety--there are condominiums, houses, parks, businesses, and even a hospital. It's its own town within a town.
I walk my little white dog Lily (like everyone else’s) near Mindanao and Glencoe every morning around 7:30 or 8:00AM. If you see me, feel free to say hi. If not, I hope to have the opportunity to meet more members of our community in the near future!
